Community Covenant
"And walk in love, as Christ loved us." — Ephesians 5:2
IC XC is a table, and this covenant is how we keep it. It asks more of us than rules do. The Terms hold the hard lines; this page holds the spirit.
We speak as adults, to adults
Mature conversation is welcome here — doubt, grief, conviction, hard questions honestly asked. What we ask is that it be spoken with care, the way you would speak across a real table.
We keep the table clean
This is not a place for sexually explicit material. Not because bodies are shameful, but because this table is set for something else.
We disagree without contempt
Brothers and sisters will differ — on doctrine, on politics, on nearly everything. Contend for what you believe; do not hold the person in contempt. Correction belongs in love or not at all.
We do not perform
There are no scoreboards here, no follower counts to farm, no algorithm to feed. An Amen is an affirmation, not a point. Say what is true and let it be enough.
We protect the vulnerable
No harassment, no dogpiles, no slurs, no cruelty dressed as candor. If you see someone being harmed, report it — the keepers of the table will act.
We carry each other
Pray for the member who grieves. Welcome the newcomer. Assume the best reading of an ambiguous word. The community is the point; everything else is furniture.
